The Barn Guest House and Tea Rooms
satisfy your
needs perfectly. Fresh air, lovely food, cosy
accommodation, friendly people. What else could you wish
for?
We are a family run establishment, situated
immediately next door to the well-known Ryedale Folk Museum,
in one of the most picturesque villages in the North York
Moors National Park. The Barn Guest House
has earned an enviable reputation for excellent
accommodation
and as a charming place to stop for something tasty to eat.
Your Hosts, Brian and Janet Thomson, offer you a very warm
welcome at all times.
Our accommodation
consists of a
selection of 7 well presented spacious rooms - single, double,
twin and family suites - all of which have en-suite facilities
and are equipped with colour flat screen television, heating,
hairdryer and complimentary beverage tray.
Breakfast is served in the tearoom, overlooking the beautiful
village green. You can look forward to being offered anything
from a full English breakfast with locally produced eggs and
home-made preserves, to a lighter continental style breakfast
with cold home cooked ham, cheese and fresh fruits. We are
very proud to serve Yorkshire tea, or our excellent coffee
alongside a selection of fruit teas.
The residents' lounge is spacious, attractive and welcoming, with open
fire for cool evenings.
Our licensed tea
rooms are open daily from mid March to early November, from
10.30am to 5.00pm. Offering wines and beers, as well as
a range of teas and coffees, homemade cakes, puddings, bread
and both snacks (soups, sandwiches, pâtés and more) and also
more substantial meals, all delicious and prepared by Janet,
using the freshest local Yorkshire produce where possible.
The tea room has a
log fire, for very enjoyable added warmth and comfort.

Please use the Menu Bar
and click on "Our North Yorkshire Village" to see a collage of
random photographs all taken in the village. Not only is the
village very picturesque, but it has a "feel" to it
which is so relaxing. You could say that it is a sleepy
village, yet the people who live in it are very
friendly and welcoming, and there is so much to see and do
that you won't have much time to fall asleep
The village is located close to many attractive features of the North
Yorkshire Moors National Park, as you will see by clicking on
"Attractions".
